How do I get there, and is local transportation provided?

- By Commercial Air
- Glacier Park International (FCA) near
Kalispell
- Daily service through Delta, Northwest,
or Horizon Airlines
- If you fly into Kalispell, transportation
will be provided to and from the lodge
- By Rail
- Amtrak to Whitefish depot
- If you arrive by Amtrak, transportation
will be provided to and from the lodge
- Driving
- Take I-90 or I-94 to Missoula
- From Missoula, take U.S. Highway 93
North
- Take U.S. Highway 93 North to U.S.
Highway 2 East
- Take U.S. Highway 2 East to Hungry
Horse
- We are approximately 55 miles south
of Hungry Horse through either the East Shore or West
Shore Road

- Elk - Typically, 30% of hunters fill
their elk tags, excluding those that miss and/or pass
up an animal
- Deer - Typically, 50% of hunters fill
their deer tags, and 75% could, depending on size
- Lodge
- Elk - Typically, 20% of hunters fill
their elk tags, excluding those that miss and/or pass
up an animal
- Deer - Typically, 35% of hunters fill
their deer tags, and 75% could, depending on size

- Wilderness
- Average fisherman can catch 25 - 75
fish, 14" to 17" long
- Lodge
- Average fisherman can catch 15 - 30
fish, 12" to 15" long

Weather to be expected?
|
|
|
| Hunting:
|
- Early camp can range from lows in the
30's to high's in the 40's (Weather conditions can be extremely
varied)
- Late camp lows in the teens and highs
in the low 30's. Lodge will be a little warmer in the beginning
but generally lows in the teens and highs in the upper 40's
|
|
| Fishing:
|
- Depends completely on time of year.
It can easily be in the 90's in July and August in the valleys,
and cooler at higher elevations

Is there processing of game available?

How many on any given trip?

| Wilderness or
Lodge:
|
- One guide per 2 hunters, plus
one packer/wrangler, and one cook. Same for either hunting
or fishing trips

Do you accept credit cards?
|
|
|
- No Due to the fact that there is no
land-based phone or electricity at Wilderness Lodge, we
are unable to accept credit cards. We do, however, welcome
cash, personal checks and money orders
